At an official ceremony at the UNESCO building in Paris on 25.10.2010, the Minister of Culture Rashidov and Director General of UNESCO Bokova signed an Agreement on creation of the Sofia Regional Center for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in Southeastern Europe.

"The signing of the Agreement is a sign that Bulgaria is an important factor in the protection of intangible heritage in the region. I am sure Bulgaria will become a leader among the countries of Southeast Europe that his rich experience and the work of the UNESCO Centre in Sofia, said after signing Mrs. Bokova.
